Straight to Video productions

Anybody have any tips on how to get into directing straight to video horror production? Not the most illustrious field, I know, but something I'm very interested in pursuing. Thanks

The first thing to do is make the film, and ensure you hold copyright over everything in it, including all the music.
Then get in touch with video distributors such as ScreenEdge and hope that one of them will like it and give you a contract to sign.
It really is a simple as that.

dont underestimate this market, in south america the straight to video market is bigger than the cinema market, this is where im aiming MI at, and yes they love horror.

to be "believed" but a good low budget horror straight to video will take this route, south america, asia , europe(spain,italy and eastern europe) and if you lucky it will be on channel 4 at 3am in the morning in about 7 years time.

not a big earner route thoguh , but a lto of the distributions company out in south america, if they like you will also give you up to $250'000 dollars for the next, cant find the web address but one companmy i can think iof is osmething like B-Movie productions
